AS

Within the advanced search, the same database is reached as in the normal search. However, the advanced search is a more detailed search. The following figure shows the advanced search page.

Search

Within a drop down menu, the user can choose seven different parameters:

  • Disease
  • Marker
  • Author
  • Jornal
  • Year
  • PMID
  • Keywords

After choosing one parameter, the query is entered in the free text field. Here, alias names of potential biomarkers can be found. Moreover, it also finds subtexts, for lung cancer e.g intersititial lung cancer is found. In addition, it is possible to connect more than one search term with the three logical operators AND, OR and NOT. In case the user wants to search only one term, the default logical operator is “AND”. The operators can be chosen in a drop down menu, similar to the parameters. After entering one search term the user has to click the add button and it will be displayed in the text form below.
